When should I begin to use natural progesterone? How long should I stay
on it?
Premugest can be used during the child-bearing
years to treat PMS. During and after menopause, natural progesterone should be used continuously to combat
estrogen dominance and put the body back into balance. Natural progesterone has many benefits and no known
adverse side effects, therefore it can be used indefinitley.
I am still having periods. Should I start natural progesterone therapy?
During the years before menopause, bleeding may continue
or be irregular even though ovulation is not occurring. If ovulation does not occur, then your progesterone
levels are essentially zero. It is recommended that Premugest be
applied during the luteal phase, day 12 through 26. This will help keep your period regular and you will
experience less water retention and mood swings.
Why are creams better than oral pills?
Progesterone is fat soluble and in nature never passes through the digestive system before getting into the blood stream.
Transdermally absorbed natural progesterone, goes into the fatty tissues and is more naturally taken into the body. Hormones
given orally need to be 100-200 times stronger to deliver the same amounts to the body. These large doses put added unnecessary
stress on the liver.
